Turkey popular with foreign property buyers

Tens of thousands of foreign nationals now own property in Turkey, new figures have revealed.
Research by the Turkish Land Registry Directorate showed that 68,419 people from other countries had bought a house in the country, reports Today's Zaman.
Antalya was said to be the most popular area, with 17,668 properties in the region owned by foreigners.
This was closely followed by Mugla, which attracted 8,298 overseas buyers, along with Istanbul, Aydin and Bursa.
A total of 73 nationalities were found to be represented in the Turkish housing market, while figures showed that Germans and Greeks were among the most prolific real estate investors.
In addition, the data showed that almost 13,000 British citizens had invested in Turkey.
