More holidaymakers visiting Agri province
01 November 2007
Turkey's Agri province is benefiting from a surge in the number of holidaymakers, according to an official.
Culture and tourism director Muhsin Bulut told the Turkish Daily News that during the first ten months of 2007 more than 101,000 people visited the area.
This increase in visitor numbers could potentially open up new opportunities for overseas property investors, such as owners of rental accommodation.
Mr Bulut stated that this year's tourist figures were a "drastic" increase on ones from previous years, added that this growth was likely to continue.
He commented: "2008 will be an important year for Agri in terms of tourism."
Authorities in the province will aim to boost the number of visitors by actively promoting it as a holiday destination, Mr Bulut added.
