EasyJet to launch flights to Turkey from Stansted
06 January 2010
Low-cost airline easyJet will introduce new flights to Bodrum and Dalaman in Turkey from Stansted Airport in the spring.
The carrier will also introduce flights to Dubrovnik and Split in Croatia as it increases holiday options for London and south-eastern passengers.
The carrier said that all four destinations offer British holidaymakers "excellent value for money" as they are all outside the eurozone.
David Johnston, Stansted's managing director, said the confirmation of the new routes is "excellent news".
"It is a real vote of confidence by easyJet in Stansted, at a time when the economy is still struggling, and the aviation sector in particular is facing a number of challenges," he commented.
Mr Johnston went on to say that he is "optimistic" about the next 12 months for the Essex airport, with easyJet recently having confirmed its intention to launch flights to Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands and Cagliari in Sardinia.
