UK holidaymakers' should consider Turkey
23 March 2009
Holidaymakers from the UK should consider destinations outside the Eurozone in order to get the best value, an expert has claimed.
The economic climate and the weak pound mean European locations are not offering the same benefits as they have done previously, and with the current exchange rate close to 1:1 trips to the Eurozone are about 30 per cent pricier than in previous years.
Speaking on GMTV, Wanderlust editor Dan Linstead said a mid-price meal will cost travellers around £10 to £20 more than just a couple of years ago.
"For better value, you need to look further afield to countries like Croatia, Turkey or Egypt," he remarked.
