Dutch Corio eyes acquisition of 6 malls

Dutch property investment company Corio said it launched talks to acquire six shopping centres in Turkey. The shopping centres are located in Istanbul, Antalya and Izmir, according to local daily Sabah.
The CEO of Corio Turkey, Koray Ozgul, said to the daily that the company also plans to proceed with EUR 1.6 billion worth of investments in Turkey and Bulgaria until 2010.
Corio is one the largest property companies in Europe with a special focus on retail. More than 90% of the company’s EUR 6.4 billion portfolio consists of shopping centres in Turkey, Holland, France, Spain and Italy.
The company manages five shopping centres in Turkey and it is also developing another two shopping malls.
