Spain, Portugal and Turkey named as golf hotspots
25 November 2008
A report aiming to foresee the most popular places for golf tourism has included Spain, Portugal and Turkey on its list.
KPMG's report found Spain and Portugal are set to become the biggest golf holiday destinations, with Turkey coming in third.
Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia were also seen to be growing in popularity.
Andrea Sartori of KPMG said that the research showed that while established destinations were not losing out, "the growing competition doesn't leave much room for further growth".
The organisation polled more than 80 tour operators specialising in golf tourism, spanning 21 countries.
