More people interested in Turkish real estate

27 February 2008

UK investors and holidaymakers are showing more interest in property in Turkey, according to a report.

Money spent by foreigners buying into the Turkish real estate market exceeded USD 10 billion (about £5 billion) between 2003 and 2007, according to figures published by Today's Zaman.

The website suggested this was rising and said in addition to investors and people who wanted to holiday there, the country was a definite option for Brits and other Europeans looking to retire somewhere warm.

The attraction of Turkey is low property prices, though these are on the rise, and the climate and culture. However, the website said there were pitfalls to purchasing in the country and advised people to research well and get trusted assistance from experts.
